Paul McCartney honored, but…

Paul McCartney was awarded with an honorary music degree at Yale University last weekend.  According to sources at Yale who insisted on not being revealed, there was one unfortunate moment when Heather Mills showed up claiming she was entitled to half the degree.   When Mills was rebuffed by authorities, she eased her sorrows by disappearing into one of the frat houses, where according to the brothers inside she impressed an impromptu crowd with her “disappearing leg trick.”

Mr Bellamy song is Heather Mills anagram

Fans of Sir Paul McCartney believe the fomer Beatle makes hidden references to his divorce from Heather Mills on his latest album.

The title of the song Mister Bellamy is an anagram for Mills Betray Me, posters on an internet forum devoted to Sir Paul have pointed out.

McCARTNEY TO ACCEPT BRIT HONOUR SECOND TIME AROUND

Paul McCartney

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is to be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To Music at next year's (08) Brit Awards, after accepting organisers' second offer of the prize.
The ex-Beatle has previously turned down the gong after claiming his acceptance of it would indicate his music career was over - but after seeing younger rockers Oasis take the accolade at 2007's ceremony, the 65-year-old has changed his mind.
McCartney - who already holds a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution for his work with the Fab Four - will now be presented with the statuette at the London event in February.
Another winner on the night will be pop newcomer Adele Adkins, who will be given the Critics' Choice prize - a new award created to encourage and launch new talent.

Bettina Krischbin made the latest startling claim at press conference to respond to a German courts rejection of her efforts to investigate Paul McCartney's 1983 DNA sample.

"I just can't believe how these singers have abused me," sobbed Bettina, "It was so traumatic, this stork swooped down, ripped off my baby's plastic diaper, replaced it with a cloth one, then took off with my baby. Then as it flew away it was shrieking, "One sheet!" "One sheet!" "One Sheet!".

Sir Paul McCartney helps son record music album

Paul McCartney is looking forward to launch the music career of his son James, by helping him record a debut album.

James, a drummer and guitarist, has already been seen on two of his father’s solo albums, but is eager to launch his own LP.

"I'm actually doing some recording with my son. We're just looking at the idea of him making an album. He's doing it all,” Contactmusic quoted Sir Paul, as saying.

“He's writing it all, laying it all. It's sensational. But there's nothing set yet. We don't know if it'll work.

"The plan is for me to just do some recording with him, and it's really exciting. I'm really loving it," he added.

The album is expected to be released next year. (ANI)

Mills: Sir Paul is Sir Cheap when it comes to charity

Ex-Beatle’s estranged wife discusses breakup, her campaign to leash media.

On the offensive after 18 months of relative silence following the breakup of her marriage to Sir Paul McCartney, Heather Mills said in an interview Thursday that the union broke up in part over the ex-Beatle’s refusal to spend more of his fortune on charity.

MILLS SPLASHES THE CASH FOR BEATRICE'S BIRTHDAY

Paul McCartney - © ddp

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY's estranged wife HEATHER MILLS has splashed out $200,000 (£100,000) on a lavish bash for her daughter's fourth birthday.
Mills - who is currently locked in a divorce settlement with the former Beatles legend - threw a Disney-themed party for the couple's daughter, Beatrice, on Saturday (27Oct07), a few days ahead of her 30 October birthday.
The celebration saw trampolines and bouncy castles erected in the grounds of Mills' mansion in East Sussex, south east England, compete with a cinema and water fountains.
And Mills' generosity didn't stop there - she also bought the child her very own pony.
But Mills has been criticised for spending so much cash on one night.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "It was one hell of a party and cost a fortune. To Heather that amount is small change. Some guests even took home champagne and wine..." McCartney also made a brief appearance at the party, but left after 20 minutes, according to reports.
The star has offered Mills $40 million (£20 million) in a financial settlement - but she has allegedly refused to sign for less than $100 million (£50 million).

Paul McCartney scared by stalker

Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney, who’s currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Heather Mills was reportedly left shaken after his gig at the Electric Proms - when a stalker breached tight security at London’s Roundhouse.

An onlooker said: “The place was like a fortress but this fan got right up to Paul.

“He was cool but they were chucked out at once.”

Earlier, Paul played tracks from new album Memory Almost Full, as well as a selection of Beatles classics.

Meanwhile. Paul’s estranged wife, Heather Mills has denied previous reports that actress Reese Witherspoon will play her in a movie about her life, after she insisted that she has no plans for a biopic, after it was claimed that she had flown to the US to discuss a film based on her life story and wanted Reese for the lead role.

She said: “It would be amazing, but there is no movie. Reese Witherspoon is a fantastic actress, but there will never be a movie.”

GRAND GIFT TO PAUL

PAUL McCartney is getting the best present possible this Crimbo. Not a quick divorce, but a new grandchild.

The former Beatle’s designer daughter Stella, 36, is expecting her third child.

My source revealed: “Stella has booked herself in for a water birth at a top Harley Street hospital.
“It’s due around Christmas Eve.”

Macca, 65, who plays the BBC Electric Proms  tonight, has already got four grandchildren.

HEATHER MILLS TO MOVE NEXT TO PAUL

Heather Mills
Heather Mills is set to buy a house in the same London street as estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney. The former model - who is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with the Beatles legend - was spotted viewing a £16 million ( US $32 Million) mansion in St.John's Wood just yards away from the house she and Paul shared before their marriage broke down.Heather - who has a three-year-old daughter, Beatrice, with Paul -returned for a second private viewing with Michael Sulkin, senior director at estate agent Aston Chase. Heather's spokesman denied rumours she will be moving into the seven-bedroom home. He said: "She is not looking to buy a property in the same road as Paul. Her visit to the house was on behalf of a third party, but it is a private matter and she is not prepared to discuss it."In July, it was reported Heather was looking for a home just minutes away Paul's Peasmarsh estate in East Sussex, as she is keen for Beatrice to live close to her father.Relations between Paul and Heather, who split in May 2006, have seemingly improved in recent months. The pair are said to have decided put their difference aside for the sake of Beatrice, and have even been regularly meeting up and speaking on the phone.

Paul McCartney at Stella’s show

Paul McCartney showed up with two of his kids, Mary and James, to support daughter Stella McCartney’s show as she featured her new collection in Paris. The family sat in the front row and took tons of pictures.

Paul got a bit choked up when they played one of his own songs to close the show.

“It’s always very emotional. . .but when ‘Blackbird’ kicked in at the end, it killed me. Good job, I brought my handkerchief!”

According to reports, the clothes were very feminine with soft lines and a touch of lingerie inspiration, and a lot of floral prints. The backdrop for the show was made from real grass and leaf foliage, which Stella plans to recycle by donating it to a local low-income housing project.

MCCARTNEY-MILLS DIVORCE, 100MLN EURO FOR PAUL'S FREEDOM

http://www.agi.it

(AGI) - London, Jul 20 - One hundred million euro to regain his freedom: this will be the cost of the divorce between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, which will be one of the most expensive divorces in history. The former Beatles front man will have to pay the mother of his Beatrice - from whom he separated in May, 2006, after a 4 year marriage - 70 million pounds (about 103 million euro), as part of the divorce agreement. According to the Daily Mail, the former model will not receive any home, because she already owns three. McCartney will also have to pay for all of little Bea's expenditures (school, travel, baby-sitters and safety). Among its clauses, the most expensive divorce in the legal history of the UK, is also the commitment of both parties not to speak in public of the reasons for the break up. According to British tabloids, Heather, 39, with an 'adult' past on which there have been many rumours, accuses McCartney of having mistreated her in four occasions and drinking regularly. They met in 1999 at a charity event, one year after the death by cancer of the musician's first wife, Linda, with whom he had lived for 29 years.
According to financial magazine Forbes, the most expensive divorce in history was that between American basketball star Michael Jordan and his wife Juanita, which cost 150 million USD.

Paul McCartney Pays To Silence Heather Mills

paulmc.jpg“McCARTNEY ‘will pay £70million to silence Heather.” (Pic: The Spine)

So says the Mail’s headline. And we marvel at how inflated the cost of a hit has become since Britain expelled four Russian diplomats.

On further reading, it turns out that Sir Paul McCartney is to pay Heather Mills the money to go away. It is to be a divorce settlement.

Mills gets a £15milion lump sum and £3.5million every year until their daughter Beatrice, 4, turns 18.

This will be the largest divorce settlement in UK history. But we will not hear much about it because one clause stipulates that Heather must not mention their marriage publicly.

Although if she did, the papers would revel in watching Sir Paul return to court and fight for a rebate on the funds used to keep his former wife and daughter in the style to which they have become accustomed…

Can’t buy me off for £20m, Mills tells McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney has offered £20 million to Heather Mills — and she in turn has said that she will accept £50 million, The Times has learnt.

The keenly awaited divorce settlement was predicted at one stage to result in the former Beatle paying as much as £100 to £200 million to his estranged wife.

But after recent court hearings the gap between the two is £30 million, with a likely final settlement for Ms Mills in the region of £25 to £30 million out of Sir Paul’s £825 million fortune.

Yet despite the relative closeness of the figures, the case could still be battled out in court.

It is listed for a five-day hearing next February, before Mr Justice Bennett, a family High Court judge, and some lawyers believe a pre-trial settlement is unlikely.

One lawyer said: “It could well go to trial because they are both quite stubborn.”

He added: “Five days is only a relatively short hearing but then the issues are fairly straightforward and it was a short marriage.”

Both Sir Paul, 65, and Ms Mills, 39, a former model, have lined up top legal teams, using the same lawyers who acted against each other in the divorce of the Prince of Wales and Diana, the Princess of Wales.

Sir Paul has hired Fiona Shackleton, known as the “steel magnolia”, from Payne Hicks Beach and who acted for Prince Charles; and Ms Mills has recruited Anthony Julius, of Mishcon de Reya, who acted for the Princess.

Neither would comment yesterday.

In February this year there was a flurry of speculation that a deal was imminent. But no agreement has yet been reached.

A factor in any deal will be adequate provision for the couple’s child, Beatrice.

Suzanne Kingston, family lawyer at Kingstons, a London law firm, said: “A settlement of £25 million or so would be much less than the sums people had been talking about but many lawyers would think that this was an appropriate figure.”

If the settlement was fought out in court, then a judge would list a range of factors, including length of the marriage, whether the assets were acquired before marriage or during it and the parties’ needs.

“In the case of Sir Paul, the bulk of the assets would have been acquired before the marriage and a judge might well decide therefore to discount those.”

She said that since the recent House of Lords case of Miller v Miller, a divorced wife in a short marriage could still obtain a large settlement.

Melissa Miller was awarded more than £5 million after a marriage of less than three years from her husband Alan’s estimated assets of £32 million.

But Ms Kingston said: “The key difference with the McCartneys is that there is a child and Sir Paul will have to ensure that there is proper provision for her.”

The McCartney divorce is not the only celebrity split in the news.

The former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, has separated from his wife of four years, Claire. Some commentators have predicted she may be in line for as much as £10 million of his £25 million fortune.

Ms Kingston said: “People are already commenting on how an award of £10 million could be potentially unfair when the wealth is considered to be premarital and generated by Thierry Henry’s exceptional personal talent.”

Courts would be likely to take into account this factor, she added.

Parallels are already being drawn between this case and the divorce of Karen and Ray Parlour, Henry’s former team mate.

“But Karen Parlour was able to argue that she made a significant contribution to her husband’s lifestyle by ensuring that he stayed away from alcohol.

“Mrs Henry might find that more difficult to argue as the club manager, Arsène Wenger, is known to maintain a strict health and fitness regime.”

Paul McCartney Hailed For Boycotting Animal-Testing Charities

Paul McCartney Paul McCartney has been praised by animal rights group PETA after announcing plans to boycott cancer charities that test on animals. The multi-millionaire former Beatle has supported cancer charities since his first wife Linda died of the disease in 1998. However on Monday he revealed plans to refuse funding to organizations that practice vivisection, after discovering a number of charities close to his heart advocate the practice.

The vegan rocker said, "When Linda died I said I would support cancer charities. Animal rights groups wrote to me pointing out that many were heavily into vivisection - and it's true. A doctor we knew out in America just admitted it as a matter of fact, innocently, like 'Well, sure we do.' What he doesn't realize is that he won't get a donation out of me for that very fact. There are better alternatives but you're not allowed to challenge the status quo."

Paul McCartney Chooses Lab Rats Over Cancer Patients

Benevolent superstars must get really confused when their chosen charities have such conflicting priorities.

Sir Paul McCartney has been donating his cash to many different cancer charities since his wife Linda died from the disease in 1998.

But he's just pulled support from several cancer funds, after discovering they tested on animals.

The animal-loving star was shocked to find out organisations that had previously benefited from his generosity advocate vivisection.

McCartney, a vegan, says, "It became very difficult when Linda died because I said I would support cancer charities. Animal rights groups then wrote to me pointing out that many were heavily into vivisection - and it's true. A doctor we knew out in America just admitted it as a matter of fact, innocently, like 'Well, sure we do.'

"What he doesn't realise is that he won't get a donation out of me for that very fact. There are better alternatives but you're not allowed to challenge the status quo."

Are we to assume, then, that if doctors had been able to save Linda's life with a medication that'd been tested on lab rats, Sir Paul would've kissed his wife goodbye and sung "Oh! Darling," don't "Twist And Shout," "I'll Cry Instead," "Here Comes The Sun."
