2012 organisers "are planning [Beatles] sort of music". After nodding
confirmation of his appearance at next summer's opening ceremonies,
McCartney joked: "I met the guy who knows the guy who's going to ask
somebody about it soon."

1) The guitar McCartney was taught on - £280,000
A Rex acoustic guitar sold for £280,000 at a Cooper Owen auction in 2006. The guitar belonged to Ian James, a friend of McCartney’s from the Liverpool Institute grammar school. James came from a musical family and taught Paul his first set of chords during the 1950s.
James has claimed that this guitar was present on the day McCartney first met John Lennon at the Woolton Church fete. James has also said that it is possible that Lennon and George Harrison may have played the guitar that day.

The record company EMI has to watch another of his big
names to pack up with its catalog and it is a big one.

Paul
McCartney, who launched his last two albums with Concord Music Group, a
California company, has also decided to give him all his solo catalog
by ending its contract with EMI.
In recent years, are Radiohead, The Rolling Stones
and Pink Floyd even, somehow, who regained control of their catalog at
the expense of EMI.
Paul
McCartney has explained his decision to leave because he has with EMI
Music Concord excellent relationship based on their common love of
music. With them, he put on the market
in 2007 Memory Almost Full "and" Good Evening New York City in 2009, a
double CD of a DVD of his show in New York.
With his new
company, he was heard out of his old records one by one with new bonus
material for each of them. This
Band On The Run, published in 1973, which will be the first to be
updated with a release planned for August.

Starr and McCartney headed to the studio...
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited onstage in New York City this weekend, but it looks like the two will also be reuniting in the studio.
A source said: "It has been a long time since Ringo played drums on any of Paul's songs
but they've decided they can work together again. They had a fantastic
time in New York, and realize they still work well together. They're
now getting together later in the year to work on some of Paul's new
songs."
The show this weekend marked their first performance together since 2002.
The source added: "As well as having shared this remarkable history, they still connect so well together musically."

Here is a message from Paul about recent hospitalisation rumour.
Hi everybody,
Happy New Year!
I hope it’s a great one for all of us.
There’s
been a lot of stuff in the newspapers over the past few months and as
most of it is completely inaccurate, I have not bothered to deny any of
it.
There is one report though, that is causing concern amongst
many friends of mine which was a recent report about a heart operation
that I was supposed to have had.
People are ringing and texting
me saying “are you ok?” and I hadn’t seen the report so I was puzzled
by so many enquiries about my health. So I think it’s a good time to
put this rumour to rest. What happened was, over a year ago during a
routine medical examination, there was a minor irregularity which I
needed to have tests for and which I have now been assured is
completely fine. The media have only just recently reported an
exaggerated version of this and that is why people have been asking me
if I am ok. So this is where the story has come from. The media reports
have, as usual, completely distorted the story, calling it an
angioplasty, which is entirely untrue, and this is why so many friends
have been concerned about my health.
I’m happy to say that I feel great and I have passed my most recent medical with flying colours.
I
would like to thank all of you and my friends and relatives for your
concern and I’m very happy to put your minds at rest, although I have
secretly been enjoying all the sympathy I’ve been getting!
Once again, happy new year and remember…don’t believe everything you read in the media.
I look forward to a rocking 2008!
Love,
Paul
